That's why I'm really confused by it. Can't think of any logical reason for it to be there Tbh

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Chris_90 - 24-08-2013

Do the brakes work ok?....... We'll guessing they do if it's just gone though mot Undecided it is strange just take it off and block it off to be safe I think

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - ozonehostile - 24-08-2013

Yeah the brakes work ok, nothing spectacular though. Il try it without the breather when I fit the braided lines and 266mm brakes

The new clutch is only a 180mm so I expect it will probably happen again soon. Next time il be replacing with a paddle clutch and a 1.6 flywheel

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Dum-Dum - 24-08-2013

I think that breather is a case of stupidity of the previous owner

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - samass - 24-08-2013

Struggling to understand how that ecotech thing is meant to work...

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Piggy - 24-08-2013

is the idea that it holds the pressure and allows then then the engine to pull vacuum from atmosphere once brake servo up to pressure...stops it becoming a restriction?

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - ozonehostile - 24-08-2013

Yeah I'm pretty confused about how it works too :-\

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Piggy - 24-08-2013

once all the running gear is sorted, are you going to track prep it?

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Piggy - 26-08-2013

Hi, I saw your thread on your sedan, looks like you're not having much luck lately!
Out of interest, what sort of money are you being quoted on the cage welding? Is it a pre-fab job with weld in mounts and the cage bolts in or a fully welded jobby?
I soooooooo need a decent MIG. I've done a couple in the past but no-where to do any work under cover at the mo.

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Piggy - 26-08-2013

A proper cage wouldnt be migged! lol

It would be TIG, so much stronger and doesnt warp the cage/car so much when being put in due to difference in heat

I did ask if it was a weld in cage with mounts :p No problem migging one of them.

You can weld pretty much anything you want with a MIG anyway if you know what you're doing and balance the welding. If the welds aren't too hot and penetration isn't a problem why should it be weaker?
I've welded ALL sorts of frames with a MIG and warping's never been a problem.

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Piggy - 26-08-2013

I wouldnt want my cage welded in with a mig. no thanks

Nope, it's been moved to its new garage this month and il finally finish it. Just got a brake line to replace and put seats in pretty much. Few electric bits to sort too but nearly there

how easy are these cars to turbo? as the engine bay on these are like metros, every small.
