Its just filling my engine bay with boost at the moment lol RE: Nialls GTi6 - It lives!! - Dum-Dum - 13-02-2014 Ooh all the shiny ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - It lives!! - jonas306 - 13-02-2014 Nice project, i will keep an eye.. RE: Nialls GTi6 - It lives!! - Niall - 16-02-2014 Not a huge amount done this weekend but it was successful overall for a change ![]() The other week, i got the EPAS mostly fitted. I decided to relocate the pump to under the boot floor which meant a very expensive trip to Pirtek to get a high pressure line made up. I mounted that along the floor last time around but the low pressure hose they supplied me was too big so had to get some more. Got that run this weekend and got it all wired in and filled up. Works an absolute treat, is slightly heavier than the original which i like. Only thing is it whines a bit but I'm sure i can do something about that. You can only really hear it anyway when steering when parking. It just sounds like I have a chronic earth issue with my speakers ![]() [attachment=13626] [attachment=13628] [attachment=13629] Also the other week, i made a temporary repair to my cracked sump. Still going strong ![]() [attachment=13627] And finally, a comparison of old vs new charger pulley. This new one will see 5-6psi with any luck which should work out about 220bhp. [attachment=13630] Oh and after i stopped feeling like death this morning, i washed it for the first time since September [attachment=13631] RE: Nialls GTi6 - It lives!! - 7057sam - 16-02-2014 Looking good mate So what map are you running now? RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - Niall - 04-03-2014 So, a small update. Some good and bad news. I dropped the charger off to my local engineering firm to have the pulley changed and they didn't do it. Not only did they not do it but they f*cked it up in the process of trying then had the cheek to ask me to pay them for attempting! So, plan now is to take the snout from my old charger and fit it to the new one then get the pulley changed at a later date. More goodies have been turning up throughout the week so today, me and Grant (massive thanks to this faggot. Has been a hero helping out through many a dark cold night ![]() Also got all the boost piping fitted and my oil catch tank so now all thats left is to fit the 440cc injectors, load the charged base map, start it and make sure it works ok and fill it with fuel ready to be picked up on Friday for mapping ![]() [attachment=14049] [attachment=14050] [attachment=14051] And one to show the lack of clearance under the bonnet. Thankfully the charger plate is being remade in a few weeks time so won't hit the bonnet. Update friday hopefully with a dyno graph and some epic videos. Either that or a picture of GTi rods all over a dyno ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - 7057sam - 04-03-2014 Looks epic mate kinda makes me want to get back on the charger band wagon again You using 95 or 97 ron as heard people running 95 and frying the pistons RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - Tom - 04-03-2014 Some companys are cheeky bastards eh!! Looks like a pretty full engine bay though, looks awesome none the less lol! Good luck for your mapping and running etc, hope it goes well... And f*cking hauls ass! RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - Niall - 04-03-2014 (04-03-2014, 10:11 PM)7057sam Wrote: Looks epic mate Im looking into that at the moment. Ive got every faith in TnR to map it fine on 95 (which i would prefer as its available at every petrol station) and I'm doubtful that it will melt any pistons at 220ish bhp RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - RetroPug - 05-03-2014 Isn't 97 RON available pretty much everywhere these days? RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - Piggy - 05-03-2014 Tesco 99ron for the bhp win RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ready for mapping - Niall - 05-03-2014 More done today. Drove it to the petrol station to fill it up and it drove lovely except for the fact it wouldn't idle lol. Got home, got the charger replaced with the new one, filled with new oil, 440cc injectors in, boosted base map on and a oil and filter change. Started it up on the base map and it barely runs which was expected but at least it starts! Now tomorrow i need to start it and check all the sensors are working. Oh and i got my boost gauge fitted ![]() [attachment=14085] [attachment=14086] So almost there!! |
