Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Atterz - 06-02-2012 What on earth is the obsession with being so low? Surely handling and retaining at least some of the cars brilliant geometry is the main concern? Surely handling and retaining at least some of the cars brilliant geometry is the main concern? To be fair not everyone is building a car for uber handling.... Cosmetic appearance will always be more important to some people, and I can understand why to be honest.... My car would no doubt handle alot better on some £££ suspension and not being so low, but im perfectly happy how it is at the moment, and I dont want to tractorize it to make it better. Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Foxy-jim - 06-02-2012 Mines never going to be a track car! Plus I love the 'stanced' look! Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 06-02-2012 Correct mark. You get that with decent shocks, shorter bodies that hold more oil and more travel. Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Atterz - 06-02-2012 Fair play Darren and Jim ![]() ![]() Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 08-02-2012 Got the new rear dampers on, and nearly finished completely undersealing: ![]() ![]() ![]() Also had to cut out some rust from the classic spot: ![]() and weld in a plate ![]() Just got the new front coilovers to get on, play about with spring rates and fit the rose jointed drop links and setup. Just ordered some 23mm torsion bars, and a new 30mm rear arb - hopefully getting a beam tube off Sam Barker this weekend and ordering some new trailing arm shafts to get a new beam build on the way. Looking at some REALLY interesting possibilities with the new engine, something I KNOW no-one has ever tried so can't wait to get that properly underway! JP Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Foxy-jim - 08-02-2012 Looks awesome! Tell us what you are planning! All I am saying at the moment is that no-one on the forums has ever tried it, but should give me a good use-able hike in power, whilst retaining reliability. On another note, I'm more excited about getting the new beam built up - that should make a luuuuurvley improvement over stock ![]() JP Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - darrenjlobb - 09-02-2012 Nos....? Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - 4WayDiablo - 09-02-2012 Wtf is that white thing in the arch? Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 09-02-2012 NOS, no. It's been done before time and time again. I'm not answering anymore as I'm not giving it away - you will have to wait and see ![]() The white thing is a heater to help dry the underseal... it's so cold ATM!! JP Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - 4WayDiablo - 09-02-2012 Ah fair enough. So when you coming round to underseal mine Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 09-02-2012 Lol - bring it here mate, I've got the air compressor / ramps etc in the garage! ![]() Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Foxy-jim - 09-02-2012 Had to taken off the exhaust heat shields? I've put both me and the car on a crash diet.... ![]() Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Midnightclub - 09-02-2012 Still using the XUD9 engine ? Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 09-02-2012 Yep. :-) Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Connor - 09-02-2012 Twin fuel pumps? Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 09-02-2012 Nope, won't need it. I'm stopping now as I'm not telling ![]() Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - Dan! - 09-02-2012 20mm pump head? I bet its that........ Re: jammapic's XUD 306 DTurbo Track Car - jammapic - 09-02-2012 Lol. It's a bit more severe than just strapping on a whopping pumping head. Anyway, I've already said too much. Initial thought is that it should make 250hp (or there abouts) pretty reliably, with low smoke and low(ish) EGTs... but it could prove to be a monumental and expensive flop!
