Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 19-03-2012 Bingo, midnightclub got it in one... And C.A.R I know, it looks poor. Going to black pretty soon! Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - samass - 19-03-2012 cool! bet you had to rip out a whole load of gubbins to get that to work? Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Midnightclub - 19-03-2012 Well all i can say is fair play mate.. you must have some balls.. french electrics aren't the best at the best of times ![]() Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 19-03-2012 It's not as bad as you may think. Few relays here and there, some chewing gum and tape lol. If mine and nialls working out is correct, it should take less time to wire it in than it did to fibreglass and paint the fascia. ![]() Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Niall - 19-03-2012 Errrr who's working out? Lol It's actually very simple to do when you know what wires to cut! Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Ruan - 19-03-2012 Does it actually read the card, yeah? You can't just shove in a stack of 3 credit cards and it'll work? Fair play if so! Shame it's from a Renault though, eh! Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Niall - 19-03-2012 Ruan Wrote:Does it actually read the card, yeah? It will do. Immobilzer will still work just the same. It's just a case of unlocking the car, getting in, putting the card in the slot and hitting the start button. Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Ruan - 19-03-2012 Winnar! That's actually quite awesome, admittedly I'd have tried putting it somewhere else because I like those vents... Fair play. Now to get the Renault card to operate the 306 central locking ![]() Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Niall - 19-03-2012 Central locking will work although that's all a bit too technical for me! Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Dum-Dum - 19-03-2012 Grant stop painting your badge and just smooth the boot. Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 19-03-2012 I'm getting some help from Jonny to solder the keys circuitry onto thinner board to fit it in the card. Then the central locking should work from the card. TBH I never use those vents anyway, they're always in the off position so no great loss to me. And dum, it's on the list lol, when I get paid haha! China XS, Shed to shiner - kentiiboii - 20-03-2012 I was close with a card reader ![]() ![]() China XS, Shed to shiner - ash240970 - 20-03-2012 Iirc don't some of the later card reader equipped renaults have card proximity sensing? so you don't even need to put the card in the slot just press the button to start. You are correct. However, i think, and I could be mistaken, that all laguna's from '01 had this. I am not going to be doing this though, too much to go wrong and dont fancy my car starting with a mind of its own lol Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Pugmarshall - 20-03-2012 We have this problem with Renaults all the time at work, if you leave the card in them for too long they lock themselves. Fair play, this could be awesome! Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Dum-Dum - 20-03-2012 Can I just say ive really been struggling for the last few days not to change your thread title for lolz. was thinking China XS, Shit to shitter China XS, Shed to shiner - ash240970 - 21-03-2012 Pugmarshall Wrote:We have this problem with Renaults all the time at work, if you leave the card in them for too long they lock themselves. Fair play, this could be awesome! Yeah and range rovers have a problem with leaving the key in the car too as the key is constantly talking to the vehicle and flattens the battery - found that out when I went to pick one up from a customers house and they had left the keys in the centre console and gone out for the day only to get a phone call from me to tell them it wouldn't start and they would need to come back so I could take the car and they wouldn't get penalised for a late return - fancy leaving the keys in the car instead of under a plant pot as instructed. Still I managed to get 2 hrs waiting time out of the leasing company from the time I phoned it in as a non starter to the bloke turning up with a set of jump leads. Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 22-03-2012 Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - samass - 22-03-2012 that, is awesome. China XS, Shed to shiner - kentiiboii - 22-03-2012 samass Wrote:that, is awesome. How much to come do mine ![]() Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 22-03-2012 Card reader with two cards and start button from scrappie: £30 Filler and fiberglass: Free, i had these from previous projects (£12 from halfords if you are buying both) Wire, relays solder etc: £9 Paint: £12 The longest part was the fiberglassing and painting etc. Waiting for coats to dry and then sanding back getting the imperfections out. Took a total of about 6 hours I would say.... Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Niall - 22-03-2012 Looks shit. Haha nah glad it's all working now. Will dig out that spare pickup later and have a go at butchering it. Re: China XS, Shed to shiner - Grant - 22-03-2012 Cool story bro.
