Only down the road from me. End up going there a fair bit! Epic picture opportunities! And occasional boobs on the sun RE: UK Getaway's..? - samass - 12-07-2012 if you do go up, st andrews is awesome. lots of old builindings and shit, just drive thruogh fife quickly, its a shithole. loch leven isnt too far north from edin either, and theres an island in the middle you can row out to. all in all, its rather pretty up there. just avoid kirkcaldy I was born there, shithole), and glenrothes(grew up there, shithole) RE: UK Getaway's..? - ginge191 - 12-07-2012 We're going via lake district now, and onwards to Edinburgh for the day then back to dumfries stopping of at some ninja lochs on the way ... RE: UK Getaway's..? - samass - 12-07-2012 ah right yeah, cannea beat local knowledge! the best place to park is round the back of the station, not too far from the royal mile that way, and relatively cheap. if you spend the whole day just on the mile and the castle, you wont have missed anything major at all. even the pubs up there are all pretty good (from what i remember, lol.) RE: UK Getaway's..? - Jonny81191 - 12-07-2012 when you going to be passing the Lake District then? I think a meet is in order... And what's wrong with Skeg (Everything, and I live here!) honestly if you want something relaxing coupled with amazing views etc then I can't recommend Cornwall enough, we stopped on a caravan site overlooking Perranporth Beach and the views were amazing, the people are friendly, there's loads to do if that's what you want, the food's good (fresh seafood and the likes!) we stopped at a place called "Hunter's Moon" IIRC. RE: UK Getaway's..? - Poodle - 13-07-2012 The cost of fuel stops her walking to the ferry with you? Anyway, Scotland rules, be doing a road-trip to Stromer some time next year. If you're not going any further north than Edinburgh, at least swing by Trossachs nat park, see if you can get and far as the west coast too, amazing views. EDIT: Missed a page lol, nm. |
