RE: Nialls GTi6 - Grant - 19-06-2012 Your couch ed! RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 19-06-2012 Right fitted my auto light kit. Nice and easy to do and it's the ultimate in laziness! ![]() I've ninja'd the sensor in the A pillar as it comes in a big housing to stick to the windscreen which I don't like. It picks up darkness fine but doesn't seem to turn them off except in direct light so might have to move it. RE: Nialls GTi6 - samass - 20-06-2012 sweeet could you not stick it in next to the wiper sensor somewhere? would have to remove some of the black shit but that shouldn't be too hard... Edit: just realised how much like SRowell that sounds... RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 21-06-2012 ![]() ![]() New plates and surrounds. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 26-06-2012 Fitted my new wishbones today and it actually goes round corners again....sort of. Rear beam is still practically falling off but might do them mounts at the weekend. Also fitted my goona splitter in a rather pikey fashion ![]() ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - C.A.R. - 27-06-2012 Looks good, but think it needs a chrome bonnet badge really. Looks like that one is just really old and has faded, rather than having been painted... RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 27-06-2012 Will be getting black masks soon which match the badge quite nicely. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 14-07-2012 Right got down to krisB bright and early this morning for a clutch change and lowering. Got there at 8 and by half 9 the box was out on the floor, several coffee breaks and some stance-caravaning. ![]() Old clutch ![]() New clutch ![]() Kris fitting new clutch ![]() ![]() Gotta hand it to the guy. Can't fault his work one bit. Clutch was done by midday (including a 45 minute break) and is lovely and works now! He also lowered the rear to match the front but haven't got any pics of that yet. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 15-07-2012 Lowered at last! ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - Dum-Dum - 15-07-2012 Looking good mate. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ed Doe - 15-07-2012 Nice one mate, as said last night it looks heaps better for being hit with the lowering stick ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 15-07-2012 Cheers guys. Front needs dropping more now so I think the only option there is GHAs...... RE: Nialls GTi6 - Eeyore - 15-07-2012 good progress ![]() ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - C.A.R. - 16-07-2012 Looks nice mate, shame about the door being a different shade of blue and the front splitter isn't as nice as an OEM one in my opinion... Wrote: Looks nice mate, shame about the door being a different shade of blue and the front splitter isn't as nice as an OEM one in my opinion... Doors are being sorted shortly. There the doors off the 1.8. They had only just been painted and had all the dents done about a month before I broke it. Fitted them and realised they don't match but haven't got round to swapping them back! RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 20-07-2012 Well not really much to update. Just been enjoying driving it really. Well actually I haven't. It might be faster but if I had the choice between this and my old 1.8, it would be the 1.8 any day! Still, it's still a fun car. Anyway, new seat base time. ![]() ![]() ![]() Got a decent back as well so might replace that as the alacantara has started coming away from the leather. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Matt - 20-07-2012 I think this about the xsi. The rallye is faster, but the xsi was so much more fun! RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 20-07-2012 (20-07-2012, 09:37 PM)Matt Wrote: I think this about the xsi. The rallye is faster, but the xsi was so much more fun! Yeah went out in grants 1.8 yesterday. It's no where near as fast granted but it's such a lively engine. Its just begging to live at 5k. The gti is fast but just seems a bit lazy compared to the 1.8. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Matt - 20-07-2012 You've really got to drive them hard to get them going anywhere. Really got to rag it through 1st 2nd and 3rd to get anywhere. In the xsi I could rag round in 2nd though all the corners etc but the rallye hates it, makes some horrible noises. Launching is a pita too, literally as soon as you start moving in 1st, dump it straight into second. Pita to drive. Needs a nicer box lol RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ruan - 20-07-2012 Short stroke FTMFW... I've been saying it for so long ![]() The gearbox is too long also, needs a shorter final drive for the engine IMO... You can definitely tell it's Peugeot Sport derived, it's perfect at 110mph+, anything below, you've never got the right gear. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Matt - 20-07-2012 Need a box conversion! A 5 speed one lol RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 20-07-2012 I was thinking about the gearbox yesterday actually and thinking about what I can do about it. Needs a different first gear! RE: Nialls GTi6 - Matt - 20-07-2012 Xsara vts? They are 5 speed with the same engine no? RE: Nialls GTi6 - Pugmarshall - 20-07-2012 Good gearboxes in the VTS', a lot better than 6's and XSi's. The BTCC 306's were 5 speed, too... RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 20-07-2012 Hmmm I know where there is a vts box going as well.... RE: Nialls GTi6 - Ed Doe - 20-07-2012 I've heard the best gearbox is the 205 1.9 git one... Tops out at like 125mph but top speed is shyte anyway on UK roads its all about how you get there... RE: Nialls GTi6 - Grant - 21-07-2012 Do it Niall, then you can turn right too! No more zoolander car haha Looking good though mate, looks miles better with that seat base ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - Poodle - 22-07-2012 This is coming along well fella, looks better every time i look in. RE: Nialls GTi6 - Niall - 31-07-2012 ![]() Bitch gunna be pumping AC soon y0! Also going to Basildon tonight to pick up another epic item for the car ![]() RE: Nialls GTi6 - Poodle - 31-07-2012 Yeah, cos simply replacing parts is going to fix your french aircon. ![]() |
