Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - Matty - 21-04-2012 My god. That belt diagram, reminds me of doing my auto/spring tensioner aux belt. So annoying. In the winter on veg, yes lol Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - mark_airey - 21-04-2012 cwspellowe Wrote:Does leaving the cold start cable off affect things THAT much when cold? no, it just means you have to put your foot on the throttle a little bit when its cold since that is all it does anyway, pull on the leverset in the pump ![]() Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - Ben Jay - 21-04-2012 mark_airey Wrote:Cold start cable just leave disconnected, problem solved...................aux belt, have you completely released the tensioner?? i cant get it to move enough to push the belt on Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - mark_airey - 21-04-2012 Put the crank pulley bolt, (if you hadn't already) put a ratchet on it and slowly turn the engine over by hand while doing so you can carefully walk the belt on with a screwdriver, once its on add appropriate tension and tighten the tensioner up ![]() Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - Ben Jay - 22-04-2012 No one can come round? Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - Poodle - 22-04-2012 You're struggling to finish your aux belt with "only" a day before you need the car...? :| That said, think there might be a problem with the info that motor-factors get on these engines as i had the same problem when i changed my aux belt, tighter than a nun's chuff. Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - Ben Jay - 22-04-2012 its the same length as the old belt so it should go on! Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - darrenjlobb - 22-04-2012 Theres a few different belts, if its tight as fook you have the wrong one, its only like 6mm shorter or something but makes all the difference... if you try running it on all you will do is fook the tensioner bearings / alt or pas etc....get the right belt if its like that.... Re: In a pickle with Bosch conversion go to last post - Atterz - 22-04-2012 As above, my shagged PAS pump from a too small belt let go on the M40.
