RE: Sean's (& Ed's & Scott's) Astor GTi6 - Just Sean - 05-08-2013 That's my handle! Theirs a reason for everything!! RE: Sean's (& Ed's & Scott's) Astor GTi6 - Grant - 05-08-2013 You could have atleast wound out the bolts to put a gap between them and the calipers you mong ![]() Get them anodised haha x RE: Sean's (& Ed's & Scott's) Astor GTi6 - Ed Doe - 05-08-2013 Just for comparisons' sake, the R26R came with a Titanium exhaust option which weighs something stupid like 5kg... it was a £2,800 option on the cars when new... Titanium is BONKERS expensive... RE: Sean's (& Ed's & Scott's) Astor GTi6 - Just Sean - 05-08-2013 Its just to see tbh! My mates Ferrari is a titanium exhaust and that's 7k! And the engines in the boot!!! And are you bonkers! THeir won't be a gap when they're on the car! RE: Sean's (& Ed's & Scott's) Astor GTi6 - Just Sean - 15-08-2013 So, I've had a funny week! Flat seated bolts in tapered wheels is a bad mix. My mate took my car to halfords, on his way their the car developed a wobble and banging through the steering wheel. He got out and realised i was missig a wheel bolt...he drove straight home and straight into the motorclub. On further inspection we noted that the nut was indeed fitted, but had sheared! Oh dear! We stuck it on the ramp and tried to remove the other 3 nuts... Only 1 came out whole. Shit! So we started removing the other 3 wheels and different nuts were used, so luckily it was just the drivers side hub that was f*cked. Stripped it down wednesday night and checked prices of a new hub. Then i checked to see if the hub from the hdi would fit... It did! Hurah! 2200 and ive got to pack up and take the key back and get to supper as im working a night shift... Up at 1430 the following day to start on the rebuild... While the car was in the air I changed the exhaust rubbers, exhaust sits a bit better. Also checked rear subframe for rust and we're good their too. Lowered the suspension a bit, and adjusted the drop links to suit. Also fitted my new boot n bonnet badges from gareth. Changed the hubs and stuck my mo5s on. She's looking fairly sweet now! Looking forward to rolling with the yellow! Pictures to follow! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Sean's (& Ed's & Scott's) Astor GTi6 - samass - 15-08-2013 dude, the mo5s HAVE to go yellow!!!
