Yes Chris, I work on a caravan site.

How did you come to this conclusion?! haha

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 27-12-2013

Got fed up of driving in a duck pond the whole time

So ordered up some waterproof foam and re did the coverings around the window regulator, where it was leaking from.

Still need to fit my new tre's but CBA whilst I'm hanging lol

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Piggy - 27-12-2013

linky to the foam? I need some but I can only find the stuff at mega £££s

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 27-12-2013

How much you been finding? Mine was 22 quid posted for 2m sq.

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - cully - 27-12-2013

oooow you want some fish for your pond?

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Dum-Dum - 28-12-2013

Did you not clean out the drain holes in the doors?

Id of been a pikey and drilled extra drain holes in the floor Big Grin

Yeah I seen it round that...just seems a lot for thin foam!

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 28-12-2013

Tbf there's a bough foam to do every hole on the door, for about 6 sets of doors.

I could precut some squares and post to you to cut to shape? Saves buying a whole roll?

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 29-12-2013

So the footwell has remained dry ThumbsUp so it would appear the foam is doing its job well!

Changed the TRE's today and had the tracking done. No more knocking noises. For now lol

Also fitted a voltmeter to keep an eye on my two small batteries. They have been getting a little sluggish in the cold weather.

How far out the tracking was lmao

This is fitted straight. It just angles towards the driver, giving the illusion it is not, agains the bottom of the heater controls. Just warming up in the house with a brew atm, then heading back out to weld up the hole in my wing if I CBA

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 29-12-2013

Aaaaaand, just got in from a drive, and the pads is exiting the rear calliper...... Again..... Not best pleased. Such a shit design lol

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Rippthrough - 30-12-2013

New fitting kit?

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 30-12-2013

The bar hSnt worked it's way fully out. Jay skud across one of the pads. I'm gone put it back through, drill the holes a tad bigger and put some m2 bolts through to stop it working loose either way.

If that makes any sense at all lol

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Piggy - 30-12-2013

Shame that grant, its a weird fault though, i have never come across it back when doing customers cars...I do agree though, a nice stainless bolt would be more reassuring

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 30-12-2013

Take that rear calliper!

Hopefully won't be going anywhere in a hurry now lmao

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Dum-Dum - 30-12-2013

"Like!"

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Eeyore - 30-12-2013

You do realise that if you painted that caliper you would have an extra 5bhp. and thats per caliper! FACT!

I only have the back left painted on the 1.8. Just too much power otherwise!

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 30-12-2013

lol The fronts are painted yellow. Thats enough power for the time being with a failing brake system.

yeah but think of how much weight he is saving by NOT painting them Wink

anyway...V8? where is it??

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 31-12-2013

lol

V8 is in planning stages. After seeing Dan's soarer the other week and hearing that roar, it has motivated me even further to get this done.

At the extremely earliest it won't be till autumn this year, but I reckon more likely show season 2015. I'm gonna try and buy an engine, at least that way I have to get cracking with it then Angel

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Dum-Dum - 01-01-2014

What sort of V8 we talking, carb or injection?

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - sam - 01-01-2014

Hemi or a mopar?

no hemi...but £100...easy to get running

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Dum-Dum - 01-01-2014

The Rover (Buick actually) V8 has some benefits but IMO just don't (unless its TVR fettled). Save your pennies and get a chevy LS crate engine, they start from a couple of grand up to the best part of £10k for a LS9

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Piggy - 01-01-2014

yeah but few hundred quid V few grand Undecided

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Dum-Dum - 01-01-2014

But any time you tell anyone you have a Rover V8 they will just hear the word Rover and laugh at you.

till they hear it..and we all know its not really a rover!

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Dum-Dum - 01-01-2014

Yeah its a 1950s Buick engine and I'm not sure thats any less uncool (becausedoublenegative)

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Niall - 01-01-2014

Rovers from the V8 era were pretty cool anyway. Anyway when people say what the hell is in that, just say a V8! lol

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Grant - 01-01-2014

TBH the V8 used in the disco's and defenders are bullet proof. You can buy an entire gasket and head bolt set for £60 quid (for both banks) and as said, they are cheap to come by.

Yes, a chevvy engine, or a Hemi would be awesome! But not the point of this build lol

RE: Ell Diablo - V8 Engine?? - Rippthrough - 02-01-2014

The Rover V8 sounds good and that's about it, you'd be faster with a '6 engine.
