Exactly ask phil how many times a day hes refitting boost hoses. RE: Best Sunday ever! - David - 07-01-2013 iv blown a boost hose loads of times but iv never oil go everywhere when its poped off before RE: Best Sunday ever! - cwspellowe - 07-01-2013 Yeah I'd be concerned about the oil tbh. Whip the intercooler off an have a look, might have blown the seals. Any other noises when it went? Any grinding/scraping? RE: Best Sunday ever! - David - 07-01-2013 Thats why i got recovered because of the oil. iv taken some of the piping coming off the and there is abit of oil in the piping up to the first bend. i hant started it up yet or moved it so ill find out in abit. RE: Best Sunday ever! - cwspellowe - 07-01-2013 How much is a bit? Could be that seals only started blowing recently and there's a few miles left on the blower yet RE: Best Sunday ever! - Toms306 - 07-01-2013 I've never seen boost hoses that arent coated in oil! I take it you dont have a catch tank David? So all the oil is coming through the breather into inlet, especially at high rpms... RE: Best Sunday ever! - cwspellowe - 07-01-2013 Mine were spotless without a catch tank up until the turbos shat themselves. But then again i've an FMIC and the breather isn't plumbed into it. There should be no oil in the inlet pipes with no breather and a decent nick blower. RE: Best Sunday ever! - Toms306 - 07-01-2013 Nah if you've got a catch tank or no breather into the intake it keeps clean, my new'uns were nice and clean until I had to remove the catch tank failure lol - a week later they were full of oil again! EGR shit makes a messin boost pipes as well but I dont even know if XUDs have EGR. RE: Best Sunday ever! - cwspellowe - 07-01-2013 Some do, but most sack it off. Mine's never had an EGR with the Berlingo mani. RE: Best Sunday ever! - David - 07-01-2013 im running an oil catch tank so there is no breather pipe into the fmic system. iv got pics which ill upload in abit. wouldyou say its new turbo time then chris? RE: Best Sunday ever! - Toms306 - 07-01-2013 Ah right, good if you dont have it, otherwise best to get rid of it if possible! Standard intake pipes were so full of breather oil and egr shit on my car that I wanted rid of both...shame I managed to break the turbo with the catch tank though. Never had issues with EGR delete however, 1 out of 2 isnt bad I guess. Oh....in that case theres only one place oil can get in then...turbo seals..... RE: Best Sunday ever! - cwspellowe - 07-01-2013 Might not be terminal, might just be blow by that's started recently. Still if it's weeping oil i'd say it's new turbo time, you have no idea when it's going to go completely and trust me, they can empty a LOT of oil into the inlet when they go properly. If your engine runs away, good luck! RE: Best Sunday ever! - sam - 07-01-2013 Mate us lot laughed when we saw the low lowder drove past was a sight to see haha RE: Best Sunday ever! - 4WayDiablo - 07-01-2013 (07-01-2013, 08:30 AM)Niall Wrote:(07-01-2013, 08:26 AM)Poodle Wrote: You count popping a boost hose as a breakdown...?
