Still on with this got sams rebuilt engine with 16v hdi rods but had a bad oil leak so replaced crankshaft seal and hockeystick seals and upon replacing sure I know what the problem was so diggers crossed sorted now Smile

RE: Turbo Sedan - Poodle - 24-02-2014

This is looking fairly awesome now, I like the 90s-esque red skirts. Big Grin

Turbo Sedan - Sambarker - 24-02-2014

What was the problem with the oil leak?

RE: Turbo Sedan - mcglynn - 24-02-2014

is this gonna be painted at some stage?

really suits those arches and wheels. Nice one

RE: Turbo Sedan - Jtrigga - 24-02-2014

Love this one of the best looking sedans I"ve seen keep the skirts red they really suit for some reason.

RE: Turbo Sedan - gavxud - 24-02-2014

For some reason the diablo boot and skirts work well...kinda kanjo style wih the wellers and arches ...cool looking sedan

RE: Turbo Sedan - Poodle - 24-02-2014

RE: Turbo Sedan - HDIkyle - 12-03-2014

Hockey stick seals on the end cap were split and the wrong shape in the groves. Changed them for some off old engine and seems a lot better now a small leak still but think thats just spills running fruim the flat areas. Will be painted yes this summer when I got my garage sorted Smile done slot or tidying up underneath and wiring which can't tell but looks a lot better than the bodges before.

Lights wired and fitted put new outer lamps on and grey flyeye to cover the rust up on the inners so they all match

That engine crane is identical to my mate's. We always thought it was a one off some duffer must have lashed together !!
Think yours is in better condition too.
So many memories of winding that handle up and down Confusedniff: - made me get a hydraulic one Big Grin

Turbo Sedan - SupaStar88 - 28-03-2014

That interior is mad! Not my cuppa tea but tbh it does look smart, sticker bomb it Big Grin lol

RE: Turbo Sedan - HDIkyle - 04-07-2014

Much prefer that over the hydraulic ones alot easier to make fine adjustments but a leveler helps a huge deal! I have some recaro seats to go in at some point soon hopefully

RE: Turbo Sedan - clayton306 - 11-07-2014

That's some dashboard - Did you get it resprayed and finished off?
Any Picks?

RE: Turbo Sedan - HDIkyle - 19-07-2014

Not yet no I have the paint but its having running problems again not starting and the rads bust so its off the road for Abit while I sort it out

RE: Turbo Sedan - zx_volcane - 19-07-2014

i know it sounds mad, but have you double checked your glowies again? I doubt you could kill them that quickly, but seems odd you've got starting issues again just after you cured it.

RE: Turbo Sedan - bashbarnard - 19-07-2014

Got a rad here I can send out if needed. Phase 2 xud one. Check your getting a live to stop solinoid as well

RE: Turbo Sedan - HDIkyle - 21-07-2014

I will check them also soliniid butcan see the fuel moving in the filter so can't be that it rubs great when going. It's quite frustrating as it was fine half hour before

RE: Turbo Sedan - JamesPT - 09-09-2014

Hmm hmm Intercooler!

RE: Turbo Sedan - HDIkyle - 29-09-2014

Managed to throw a rod on the way to the rolling road. Smashed sump, filter housing. And sprayed her behind me with all the oil

RE: Turbo Sedan - Dum-Dum - 29-09-2014

Oh no, whatever shall you do about that?

RE: Turbo Sedan - Piggy - 29-09-2014

Thought this had 16v hdi rods in it?? No decent bolts?!

RE: Turbo Sedan - Matt - 29-09-2014

Any close up pics on those archs? And what are they from?

RE: Turbo Sedan - HDIkyle - 29-09-2014

It did have 16v rods Lol just got 1 less now. There just the universal ones off ebay 70mm ones i believe

Drive a BX around for abit untill that breaks then steal her car and make her walk to school with the kids whistle

It was still running saw stuff flying out the back and thought it was a tyre so pulled over with engine running to have a look and was greeted by a black river flowing down the hard shoulder so turned engine off until i unlocked bonnet and could not see any holes so started it back up idled fine bar the hole!

Not sure what bolts it had i believe standard head bolts was only running 35-36psi but had popped a boost pipe abit up the motorway so had done a good 10 miles with no boost at all.

RE: Turbo Sedan - padge - 30-09-2014

he meant rod bolts not head bolts

RE: Turbo Sedan - bashbarnard - 30-09-2014

That sucks. I'm always worried about this.

RE: Turbo Sedan - Piggy - 30-09-2014

(30-09-2014, 02:32 AM)padge Wrote: he meant rod bolts not head bolts

Aye.

35/36psi with standard rod bolts...my bet is thats what failed!

Amazing it still ran! lol so as it still ran...what bhp did it make on the RR?! lmao

RE: Turbo Sedan - zx_volcane - 30-09-2014

Shame this has let go, and exactly why I was paranoid about my bottom end letting go before i put forged rods in.

Rightly so considering I bent one.

I don't think rod bolts have ever been an issue tbh.

psi don't mean a thing, really depends on how you make you're power.
