Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 06-06-2012

so far set me back £490 inc tax and all serviced

Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 13-06-2012

just ordered some new discs and pads front and rear, hopefully get them delivered in a few days so I can have some non judderring brakes that work! Smile

car now stands me at £470

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 18-06-2012

new discs arrived and xsara washer jets, now have some working brakes, pita todo though every caliper needed taking apart and un siezing. sadly the washer jets are for xsara picasso so don't make it to the windscreen, getting sent back tomorrow.

thinking of orange cyclones at some point, thoughts?

Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 01-07-2012

Now have a working drivers window!

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 05-07-2012

few pictures because I'm bored, so to fix the window last week I had to take the door off and split back the loom and solder them all back together, bit of a pita but all done now

my loom now;

then gave it a quick bath yesterday, very quick, but heres a few whoring pics anyway

just need to fit my components and rag the f*ck out of it some more, jobs a goodun!

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Jonny81191 - 07-08-2012

Looks good, just needs black masks Smile

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 08-08-2012

am aiming towards black masks now aswell, going to steal my brother in laws see what they look like.

had a massive fail earlier, changed my wishbone for one I had kicking about with reasonable bushes, removed my wish bone and the bushes literally fell off!!
both P bush and round one, new wish bone had wrong size ball joint swapped that, managed to pull the drive shaft out trying to refit it and lost half my gearbox oil, and took about an hour trying to fit f*cking P bush bolt.

also ball joint bolt is too f*cked so awaiting getting a new set tomorrow and some gearbox oil and should be good to go again.

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 25-09-2012

should look damn sweet on the challengers
will suit the badge nicely Big Grin

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - kernow_joe - 16-10-2012

vortex's though Smile slightly wider and pita to get balanced, due to not having a centre bore hole, just found this out last night as of owning some

yeah I'm hoping they will, they need a refurb though so won't be on for a few weeks, bit worried the cars going to look like its on stilts on the big wheels though

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - lewisdmz - 17-10-2012

Looking good bud, absolute bargain for what it owes you! Did you get any photos of the HD wishbones? Are they a different design to standard P bush e.g. less gaps in the rubber?

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - kernow_joe - 17-10-2012

cheers bud, owes me a bit more now, I'm stopping keeping track as its got to that stage already!!

no don't think I took any pictures before they where fitted, felt pretty stiff and a lady garden to fit,
my mots out so not had a chance to drive it yet either Sad

Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - kernow_joe - 19-10-2012

Aww thanks tom

This is starting to look good. I really want some challangers on mine but not even considering it till I've worn my tyres out and need new ones!

It might be a no-brainer soon mate, they might be putting double yellows in the streets around my work and no way am I paying £5 a day for city centre parking when the bus is every 10 minutes from the end of my street and my dad works for the bus company so I can get a cheap bus pass...

And if I don't need MPGs why have a derv frankly...

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - Midnightclub - 21-10-2012

Exactly! It's worth it entirely for the noise alone.. everything else is just a big bonus Tongue

thats how I ended up with this one, drove it home on the way to strip for parts, bwaaaarp bwaarp, had horrible handling with flat bald tyres bushes all shot but new I had to keep it!!

RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - Midnightclub - 21-10-2012

Yeah.. i also blame the noise for my fuel bill! Rev counter goes up, wallet goes down lmao

Fair play to pug though, they certainly can get an epic noise from there engines
