Golf wasnt trying...

163/ton vs 139, also 194 lbft/ton vs 120...

Indeed. 306 GTi-6's - and indeed most hot hatches from the 80's and 90's - are fairly slow by current standards such is the way that performance has come on massively over the last decade or so.

Shouldn't be as slow as a previous generation Mini One mind you, let alone one that's four up...

Don't you hate it when you accidentally creep to 120mph+... lol Pretty sure they were trying, whether or not they were in the right gear I can't say (or is it all dsg these days?), but they certainly weren't hanging around when I went for the overtake anyway. I ran out of balls way before the '6 ran out of power though. Just wish there was somewhere to legally and safely try it out without being on a track full of people lol. Be nice if they opened up the old airfield round here for a rag round lol.

Do hillclimbs or sprint days, then you'd be the only car on the track.

I would do Pugfest if Prescott Hill wasn't the other side of the world. Sad

Driving rings round a track doesn't interest me at all, a straight thrash with a couple of bends is far more my kinda thing though!
