black masks - kentiiboii - 22-04-2012 R45_ODV Wrote:Ive been told they are bastard to open up on the other hand i have hurd of people useing a hair dryer and flat head screwdriverall the scraper would do is break the blue surely. You ideally need the glue in 1 piece. I'd oven it use flat blade and keep a heat gun on low heat so it doesn't cool down too fast. Re: black masks - Ruan - 23-04-2012 Trust me, it's a total twat... You'll almost always end up breaking the lip of the rear of them... Or putting a hole in it, imagine the glue is like plyable cement - same kinda consistency... I've managed to do 2 sets, but they aren't in the best condition anymore!!! Re: black masks - Ed Doe - 23-04-2012 ^^ +1... Mine were hanging when i'd finished with em... Managed to seal them back up, and they look good on the car, so long as you don't lift the bonnet! RE: black masks - Oil-burner - 10-10-2012 Just started a set of valeos, it was a piece of piss to split! I can do I guide with the other side if there's enough interest. Don't think it came out bad for my first time. ![]()
RE: black masks - Ed Doe - 11-10-2012 Nice one Valeos are supposedly really hard to do, so a guide would be great I assume it's much the same as the other guides floating about "bung it in the oven until really hot, then prise apart carefully" but if you have any epic techniques then please share!!
RE: black masks - C.A.R. - 11-10-2012 Looks really good. I'm interested in a guide on the Valeo's, the fitment is so much neater when they're back on the car... RE: black masks - Oil-burner - 11-10-2012 I'm gonna crack on with the other side today so ill do a bit of a guide, don't know if I've discovered any epic technique but it seriously only took me about 2-3 mins to open it when it was out of the oven! Most of the time was spent prepping/ painting or removing old glue! RE: black masks - C.A.R. - 11-10-2012 Interested to see how they look on your car too as it's the same colour as mine... RE: black masks - Oil-burner - 11-10-2012 Gonna look epic, I've used plasicoat metallic graphite and it really is a nice contrast to the manstain. Tell you what if it looks good ill swap you for your smooth bonnet/grill?! Lol Worth a try! Na, I've seen a few people with masks on moonstone and it always looks good, can't wait to get them on. RE: black masks - Kezzieboy - 11-10-2012 Mmmm, I desperately want some valeo masks, the depos (as Chris said) just don't fit all that well. |
