I kind of thought that! The Gti 6 is geared totally different to any car that I've driven, I can do 30mph in 6th! ![]() RE: gti6 high rpm flat spot - Niall - 20-03-2015 (20-03-2015, 10:45 AM)Midnightclub Wrote: A stock GTi6 will not hit the limiter in 6th, 100%. RE: gti6 high rpm flat spot - aaddzz123 - 20-03-2015 Out of curiosity what does the speed in 6th gear top out at with the standard limiter? Anyone know? A friend of mine had a 410bhp 6 until recently and I'm sure that's been over 160mph. RE: gti6 high rpm flat spot - RetroPug - 21-03-2015 I hit the end of the speedo on the autobahn on a downhill. Couldn't get a totally flat section but generally around the mid 120s to 130 I think but then that's indicated speed rather than actual speed. Don't think you quite hit the limiter, just reach a point where you can't overcome all of the drag forces eg. air resistance, friction, hysteresis in the tyres etc. RE: gti6 high rpm flat spot - Fooby - 22-03-2015 (04-03-2015, 10:34 PM)Niall Wrote: Yeah the power hits its peak at 4.5k and really does tail after 6.5-7 so i wouldn't worry tbh. Theres no need to rag these 6's to the red line! Shut up Niall, Yes there is. RE: gti6 high rpm flat spot - lolsteve - 23-03-2015 If you own a petrol and don't take it to the limiter what's the point RE: gti6 high rpm flat spot - adam b - 23-03-2015 (21-03-2015, 08:47 AM)RetroPug Wrote: I hit the end of the speedo on the autobahn on a downhill. Was then flashed out the way by a diesel touareg. Hit the limiter when it was a v6 at 142 on satnav, now hits top gear limiter at indicated 134, should be about 126. |
