Thats almost 70mpg...seems a tad unlikely... lol

RE: what mpg are you getting - Piggy - 05-07-2014

Unless he has a 106 nad!!

Noticing how the mrs drives my car on the motorway made me see first hand how some lose a lot of MPGs....throttle control was awful to be honest...often used 50% more throttle for speed/lane adjustments than was needed and late reactions to things. Not a dig at the mrs, but I rekon we dropped to 50is mpg for the run compared to 60ish I get

RE: what mpg are you getting - cpikey316_ - 05-07-2014

Petrol alert!

I got 48mpg out of my 1.8 petrol once. That was motorway cruising.

In my Pov spec C5, I get 650 miles to a tank.

RE: what mpg are you getting - WiNgNuTz - 05-07-2014

Fair shout Piggy, 106 NAD's get epic emm pee geez! Big Grin

RE: what mpg are you getting - Poodle - 05-07-2014

Currently doing 65+mpg in mine daily. Big Grin

Yeah? Well screw you, hippy. I get 55mpg if im lucky. Tongue

RE: what mpg are you getting - Poodle - 06-07-2014

lol

I'm another cheating in a 106 nad, these things really are amazing, nearly 550 miles to a £50 tank...

This seems optimistic at best, unless you're doing 60mph down the motorway all day long...?

RE: what mpg are you getting - bashbarnard - 06-07-2014

I had an ax 1.4 diesel and 1.5 both got 65 easy. On a 350 mile trip to newquay a few years ago I averaged over 70 the whole way down. Made of plastic though and dont hold up well in a crash

Currently though around 50 depending on how I drive

RE: what mpg are you getting - Piggy - 06-07-2014

Mrs does average 100miles to £10 in her nad

Best she ever did was 78mpg when really tight for cash!

RE: what mpg are you getting - Toms306 - 06-07-2014

I averaged over 65mpg in my NAD....which was good considering it had a snapped glowplug and had to be started on full throttle in the cold mornings...then got ragged from cold every day! Big Grin Can't beat a £400 shitter for that lol. Just a shame it literally tried to kill everyone... Confused

But in the 15 y/o 306 HDi with a heavy stage 1 and a heavy right foot I'm averaging 53mpg atm.

RE: what mpg are you getting - Seb_Ryan - 06-07-2014

The alfa 2.4 thats been mapped to just under 200bhp is averaging 49.6 at the moment with a heavy foot because of the noise haha

RE: what mpg are you getting - dashmader - 17-07-2014

my 306 is making like 45/47 MPG, but here on the island is dificult to make a good MPG

RE: what mpg are you getting - bashbarnard - 17-07-2014

No idea my engines not in my car atm

RE: what mpg are you getting - Eeyore - 17-07-2014

200 motorway miles to 60 quid.

So about 23 mpg.

RE: what mpg are you getting - Ricky - 17-07-2014

I recently got 800 miles to a full tank which I thought was pretty good in the HDI

RE: what mpg are you getting - dashmader - 17-07-2014

my 307 2.0 hdi 8v makes 1050 Km with a full thank, not bad i think

RE: what mpg are you getting - steve1001 - 23-07-2014

X REG 2.0 HDI

£60 of fuel at 1.37p per litre = 43.7956 litre = 9.633 gallon
Total miles = 614 miles = 63.7 mpg

[1] I let the fuel run completely out, so the engine stopped.
[2] Reset the mileage.
[3] Filled with fuel from a gallon container.
[4] Filled up at petrol station.
[5] I let the fuel run completely out, so the engine stopped.
[6] Recorded mileage.

Vettel is wrong. Always lift!

RE: what mpg are you getting - Poodle - 24-07-2014

Don't keep running it dry Steve, the pumps don't like it. I found out the hard way doing exactly the same thing, £700 on parts later and she's running again... Good mpg results there though!

Worse than me!

RE: what mpg are you getting - Toms306 - 24-07-2014

For anyone doing 'red light mpg' don't...

From red light to red light, £20 -

Last week - 125 miles
This week - 168 miles

The fuel gauges on these really are terrible. lol

Re: what mpg are you getting - kentiiboii - 24-07-2014

I think I got 350 miles from a full tank in the gti6. Going to fcs and back then a weeks worth of driving to work which is a 2 minute journey.
Whats 350 miles in mpg.

RE: what mpg are you getting - Poodle - 25-07-2014

How much money did it cost to fill up and what was the cost per litre?

RE: what mpg are you getting - Toms306 - 25-07-2014

350 miles to an estimated 55 litres is 29mpg... But that's not the most accurate way of doing it lol.

Thanks for the heads up Poodle (duly noted). I will have to change my ways.

I do run completely out much more than I should, because I always carry a gallon in the boot to get me out of trouble.

I did 120,000 miles on my first diesel (1500cc Citroen Debut xud), 192000 miles on the second (2.0Hdi), 124,000 miles on the third (2.0Hdi), and 194000 miles on the 4th (2.0Hdi). The second and third cars were written off by 3rd parties. I have had no pump problems on any of them.

I regularly got 72mpg out of the M reg Citroen Debut 1.5ltr!

Steve

RE: what mpg are you getting - Poodle - 25-07-2014

Now thats interesting, I always found it odd that running it low would cause pump damage, since the pressure will drop far enough to cause cutting out long before it actually runs dry. I just believed what I was told at the time by people who should know, if you know what I mean. I take it you've run all your hdi engines in the same way then..?

I'm happy with 29mpg! :-) don't think I quite got that when I went pugfest.
I think I got about 300 miles to a tank iirc.

RE: what mpg are you getting - ADV_93 - 26-07-2014

*petrol alert*

my 3.2 petrol did about 18-22 mpg around town, 26 on a run at best. £10 would only get you out 30 miles.

XUD is about 40-45

RE: what mpg are you getting - ozonehostile - 26-07-2014

recently been hitting 71mpg average on motorway runs in the now stage 1 hdi Big Grin

gone down a bit recently but I know all is not well with one of the rear brake calipers
