New welder has been orderd, i wont get time to do it before xmass, but will upload a pic when done

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 26-12-2013

Attached file, Preview of the inlet adapter. Version one.

Edit: Please note the mating face will be machined after welding, since there are only 2 holes to clamp with. It WILL be flat/smooth.

Won't that take off be a bit close once you've got a pipe on the intake?

Problem solved haha. moved it 10mm sideways 5 mm down.
Or i can side mount it? it can go anywhere people want really.

Far right is best.id imagine more direct straight route to it then with nothin in way

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - padge - 26-12-2013

adaptor looks fine, can you make the connector 2.5" aswell?

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 26-12-2013

And for the spacer...

Please note these can be 4 to 5 stud conversions may even possibly 6 stud. (where applicable on PCD)
4x108 to 5x100
etc.
Any thickness (Within reason / added charge if i need to buy in thicker stock billet.) or just the plain 4 to 4 spacer, any thickness (within reason)

well heres a rough example i'm making for Dean, just for 4 stud conversion, with 20mm spacing.

Can do any size really, it will have the same shape, but the height dimensions will be different obviously, but will be checked on Dean's 306 to make sure the bonnet etc shuts.

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - padge - 26-12-2013

get back to me, if not its not a problem, ill just get a reducer hose for it.

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Piggy - 26-12-2013

Can you do manifold flanges?

IE so I can build my own manifold off them?

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 26-12-2013

2.5" will be fine mate, originally was doing 2" because thats what most of the people have for boost hoses etc, but have plenty of stock to do 2.5".

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - padge - 26-12-2013

dean, same price for a 2.5" one? when will they be ready?

Manifold flanges as in? Exhaust inlet or what? Need to be more specific haha

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Piggy - 27-12-2013

Exhaust sorry!

Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 27-12-2013

So just the face that gets bolted to the head? No pipes etc.

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Piggy - 27-12-2013

Yeah exactly that!

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 27-12-2013

Yeah easy :p

I'll try n mock up some sizes and design shapes and PM you if thats ok?

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 27-12-2013

No problem, try and be as exact as possible.

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 27-12-2013

Ok so my new welder is here! ThumbsUp
I'm going be making the inlet adapters first, please add your name if you wish to order one. (£40-45 P&P Cheaper if more order since i can bulk buy on bar)
If i get 10+ it will be £35 ea.
Please note it will be 5-10 days AFTER the order list has been made.
Try and specify if you are wanting 2" or 2.5" fitting.
These will come with bolts and washers for fitment but no gasket (yet)

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - padge - 27-12-2013

I thought you said the adaptors would be £25 Sad

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Tom - 27-12-2013

I dont think one individual would buy 10 but i bet 10 on here could get there names together and all pay at once.

That price was quoted from dean (The Numbnut)

Tom, Thats why i am asking for a list Smile I'm trying to keep the price down.
I'm looking to do them for £40 ea or less but i will not know until i make some and count my costs

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Dean - 30-12-2013

I can get hold of 2" . 2.25" . 2.5" pipe, would people just prefer 2.5"?

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Piggy - 30-12-2013

just fyi, not sure many peeps will go for them at £40 each...

how much do you rekon a manifold flange would cost?

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Danny2009 - 30-12-2013

Can't see anyone buying one at £40 when a xantia manifold is £30

I'll see what i can do, are people not willing to pay for convenience?
I Hear those manifolds are more hassle to fit?

(30-12-2013, 07:27 PM)Dean Wrote: I Hear those manifolds are more hassle to fit?

To be fair if someone's gone to the hassle of FMIC'ing a XUD then fitting the Xantia inlet isn't exactly a pain in the ass and it arguably flows better (insert proof here).

Fair play for making the adapters though! I'm not slating just giving my opinion!

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - Tom - 30-12-2013

I think theres a big market for adapters. When i looked for a xantia manifold i couldnt find shit all, and couldnt really be arsed to go hunting round random yards to find one. Would be far easier to just pay someone and have an adapter delivered to you, dont even have to take the mani off then.

RE: Inlet Adapters, plus possibly more. - nick000 - 30-12-2013

V interested in an inlet. Had best be good for £40 though!

It will be, I work for my dads engineering company hes ran it for 25 years, there is no "that will do".. But like i say £40 is not the lowest these will go.
