RE: What car next? - 306Puggy - 09-08-2013 Are some of you guys in your 30s!? If not, how the juddery f*ck do you afford to keep chopping/changing cars all the time? I'm 23 and still on my first car, can't see how anything could better it TBH. Am I doing it wrong? ![]() RE: What car next? - Scott - 09-08-2013 306 DT 306 GTi-6 306 S16 406 V6 Coupe 306 GTi-6 There are a couple of cars in between (Peugeot Partner and 306 HDi estate) but those are the main ones. RE: What car next? - Poodle - 09-08-2013 I think a lot of people on here live with their parents still, so that cuts out 90% of their costs, then there's the all-important factor of having a full-time job... Heh, damn, I live with my parents and don't have a long list. Okay then I will play: 306 DT .......... .......... .......... ![]() lol I fail so hard! RE: What car next? - Toms306 - 09-08-2013 Don't usually lose much (if at all) on cars so use the money from one to buy the next. ![]() Until the Vectra where I was given some extra money for my 21st to spend on something 'new and reliable' lol. ![]() RE: What car next? - 306Puggy - 09-08-2013 Yes but you have to have someone come at look at it and mess you around. I would much rather just spend a few hundred on the same car each year to keep it on the road. If you don't mind the hassle and the constant swapping I guess it's okay, but you barely have enough time to do anything with each one. RE: What car next? - Toms306 - 09-08-2013 I don't like the hassle of it, infact I really hate it, but my last few cars have HAD to be bought lol. Had to buy the 1st golf for diesel mpg, had to buy the 2nd golf for extra doors, had to buy the 106 when the golf failed and was off the road, had to buy the avensis when the golf died completely, rowell leant me his estate, so when he needed it back I had to buy another car, my china estate. Then my etstate was literally falling apart and not worth fixing for the MOT so had to buy something else, shame I chose a Vectra in hindsight but meh lol. Hopefully I'll get some money breaking the 306 to cover the money I'll lose on the Vectra. I'd much rather break a car than sell it, seems to get more money too tbh. Obviously that only works if you have spare time to break though. RE: What car next? - Jonny81191 - 09-08-2013 Well I don't particularly bother changing cars, So far I've had: Yellow Vauxfail Astra 1.7 NAD (bought for £350, ragged it until it broke, sold for £100) China 306 estate 1.6 meridian (bought it for £999, ragged it until the cambelt snapped, broke for spares, made £750) Moonstone 306 estate HDi meridian (bought for £1000, looked after and modded it, sold for £1400) Silver 306 estate HDi meridian (bought for £1500, never want to sell it ![]() White 306 estate HDi meridian (bought on the cheap, daily lolrag wagon. 60MPG notacare motoring FTW!) I'm looking for an m3 e46 now. Naturally! ![]() An e39 is a great car. Heavier still than an e46 and only come with the older 2.9d. Still, can get 250bhp from them and relatively good economy if in manual form. |
