Anytime mate, grandad spec in your eyes maybe, but still lower than mine. You've prob only got abut 20mm left to go on those, looks about 60 mm drop to me Smile

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Anton - 07-11-2013

Bit of an update.

Think its starting to show its age and the miles i'm doing is taking its toll. On just over 180k now and in the last couple of weeks its shit its alternator and backbox. Also i've broken another seat!

Things to do:

Reseal pump
Refurb injectors
Refurb rear calipers
Fix coolant leak
Fix knocking
Spray bonnet
Tracking
Front discs
Xantia Mani
FMIC
Put winter tyres on
C5 wheels
New ariel
Fix sunroof
250lb springs for coilovers

Should keep me busy Sad

Thats not too bad a list, atleast they're not major issues mainly for epicness.
Keep up the good work.

BTW the GT20 might be getting fitted tomorrow.

Hopefully mate, next Sunday would be perfect!

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Anton - 20-11-2013

Update time

Had a humongous fail, literally catastrophic. Noticed the rear end was 'knocking' a bit on the passenger side. Went up to zx_volcane's on Sunday with a view to get some of the jobs sorted! Jacked the rear of the car up to investigate this knocking and the passenger side wheel pretty much stays on the ground.... both rear beam mounts on the passenger side snapped clean off. Beam is hanging on my the drivers side, the exhaust and gravity. (someones looking over me)

So that was more important than some of the other jobs ha, Tom had some used mounts that we fitted.

Fitted Gaz rear shocks
Attached beam to the car
Top hat seal for pump (was leaking badly)
Refurbed injectors fitted
New oil and filter

Still loads to do, hopefully get some bits done soon.

Also went out in Tom's ZX, winning doesn't even describe it. Snaps through gears so quickly, he also poo'ed his pants a bit as the back end said hello Wink

Citroen ZX Volcane DT - td_dan - 20-11-2013

Looks good mate tom was telling me last night how he jacked your car up and the passenger wheel stayed on the floor lol, you certainly are very lucky next time your over we will have to have a meet and ill bring the 205 out lol

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - welshpug - 23-11-2013

do you have drums or discs on there?

as it happens, I have a phase1 DTurbo beam here, that has GTI6 torsion bars and arb in it all ready to go.

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Jtrigga - 23-11-2013

Mine snapped on one side thats really bad with both, and why would somebody weld in the axle people are just dangerous.

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Anton - 23-11-2013

Thought all Volcanes were discs? Believe it has 20mm tbs.

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - welshpug - 25-11-2013

ahh I see, well this one can have discs fitted easily.

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Poodle - 26-11-2013

Welded in beam mounts... Hmm

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - bobertmate - 09-12-2013

I like this Smile rear beam situation looked a tiny bit worrying haha

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - lewisdmz - 09-12-2013

What sort of mong welds in rear beam mounts, i'd go over the car (if you haven't already). Could be some dangerous bodges about...

Love the ZX though (as always).

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Anton - 23-01-2014

Update

Cheers guys, yes was very worrying. Finding the 275's too stiff for everyday driving, looking to get some 250's or maybe even 225's. It's nice to have fully working brakes again, although i still need new discs up front. The 2500's just eat brake discs, 4th set of discs to one set of pads.

Still looking to change wheels, ideally want the c5's on but still have no bolts. Also need to spend some serious time on the bodywork, really starting to show its age and the miles i do. Hopefully i'll have a day free soon to fit my fmic.....

RE: Citroen ZX Volcane DT - Chris_90 - 23-01-2014
