megasquirt dude, i have it on my v8 defender, either ebay or www.diyautotune.com
either buy it ready made or built it urself, uses ford ignition controller (edis), and crank sensor, can have normal efi, or throttle boddies, or forced induction etc, what ever you need/want...... the who thing in kit form cost me about £200 and got a map from the forum section by e.mail, plug and play lol

Ill have a read up on this tomorrow, I asked my mate what hes using on his 106 on jenveys and how is it with megasquirt he said it runs well but needs more time mapping it

How did you find 'french car conversions'? I couldn't find anything about them through google, are they local to you?

RE: standalone engine management? - sam - 26-03-2013

They emailed me through facebook

If you can DIY and DIY map it or find someone that can map mega..... then it's as good as anything else to a degree,
Mind I know that a carb'd Mi I had worked on spent a good 14 hours on the Rollers to get set up, (3 different companies) and it made more power when we swapped it back to a Dizzy.
So the moral is finding a good mapper above anything else

RE: standalone engine management? - sam - 26-03-2013

true well im looking at itbs and cams now anyway cant be dealing with the hassle or a charger haha, do you no anyone near Salisbury miles that can map? ill be going janspeed soon as I need to talk to them about a dyno day soon anyways.....

RE: standalone engine management? - miles - 26-03-2013

I get all Omex mapping done in Verwood (5 mins from me) and they can do RR days too along with the rollers being allot better too, JS are not on my top list of companies, Gone bust and opened up again too many times for my liking.

Emerald your looking at Slark's which again I'm sure might do a RR day too

RE: standalone engine management? - sam - 26-03-2013

Slark racing by any chance? If so hes down the road from me

RE: standalone engine management? - miles - 27-03-2013

Yes that's the one, Not sure on the type of Rollers there but OK for a comparison on the day, Just not a huge amount of space down there

RE: standalone engine management? - sam - 27-03-2013

Didnt think about slark racing ill have to pop down and see what hes got
