RE: Ed's "Everything's Fine" Astor GTi6 - samass - 09-01-2013 No worries. Might wanna double check as I'm not 100%, but I am like 90% sure... RE: Ed's "Everything's Fine" Astor GTi6 - Ed Doe - 15-01-2013 Right, post-weekend update ![]() Saturday Niall & Sam came over and we went for a drive with Pug Planet plugged in. The result is there is an intermittent fault with the map sensor. This indicated a possible issue with the wiring rather than the sensor itself. So on Sunday I nipped up to Niall, we swapped some ninja parts onto the car, and then got the multimeter out. It turns out the wire to the map sensor plug has a higher resistance than it should, which is causing the engine to think it's running lean, so it overcompensates on the fuel, which the lambda then tries to adjust down again. So basically that's why it's lumpy as shit to drive at the moment! Bit of a relief to have found the issue. The downside is I'll need to replace the wiring loom, as the moulded elbow connecting all the loom wires to the ecu plug is badly cracked and has let water in. Thatll be a fun job.... :S On the upside, I've managed to source a spare engine wiring loom, so that's now on the to-do list. I've also got a replacement sandwich plate adapter nut, and a replacement meyle hd wishbone on order, so all I'm waiting on is a replacement O/S hub, and then on the 2nd weekend of Feb, I'll hopefully be able to smash everything out and get it sorted! I'm rather looking forward to it!! I've also made some epic ninja-purchases, but all will be revealed in due course ![]() Ed's "Everything's Fine" Astor GTi6 - Alee83 - 16-01-2013 (15-01-2013, 11:55 AM)Ed Doe Wrote: I've also made some epic ninja-purchases, but all will be revealed in due course Ninja stars?? I went to collect the ninja-shinies last night! ![]() ![]() Basically, I've been on the hunt for some bitchin bucket seats since sitting in Ruan's the other day... I got in touch with an ebay seller in regard to these; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Rally-Race-Car-Seats-Cobra-Monaco-S-Blue-/230908782127?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=Vb5%252Ffge618KnhSn4XZDkV7t3t%252F4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-SRS-4-Point-Race-Rally-Harnesses-Blue-FIA-Expiry-2012-/230908770761?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=Vb5%252Ffge618KnhSn4XZDkV7t3t%252F4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc He came back to me yesterday morning saying he'd be able to do them at my offer but he couldnt end the auction as there were bids in and only a few hours left to run. So he said to email him to confirm I'd be collecting, then just bid whatever to win them, and then pop over with the cash last night...! What a complete legend lol! Take a look at those ebay ads to see what they went for in the end!! I was slightly worried he'd try to do me over, but nope, what a gent ![]() ![]() ![]() So now I'm on the lookout for subframes!! Seeing as these are buckets, they will be much easier to do than mine were but will cost more in metal. RE: Ed's "Everything's Fine" Astor GTi6 - samass - 18-01-2013 And the welding on his will be better cuz ill be able to afford the service my welder this time round... It don't look pretty, but its a solid weld. I'll be doing mine ad soon as I order the steel for it ![]() |
