RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - 1616six - 13-02-2015 Crazy how few cars there are on the roads there! RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 13-02-2015 well that area now in the video is sunderlands main road and one of the most busiest roads. The ford dealers what was in the video has gone now, just plain waste land, all the industrial that was in that video. Is like most of them cars in that video, gone. Either waste land, a road or a housing estate. Just shows you how much has changed in 30 years! the 1st bit now has traffic lights and the rounder about is full of trees! in fact there is more trees now then there was back then. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - powerandtorque - 13-02-2015 To be fair, I would imagine that many towns have changed beyond recognition in the last 30 years. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - RetroPug - 13-02-2015 Saw a nicely modified nova today. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - RetroPug - 14-02-2015 (13-02-2015, 05:26 PM)powerandtorque Wrote: Seems strange seeing cars that would have been no more than a couple of years old in that video which are bordering on extinct nowadays People used to buy cars that they thought they could afford rather than the best thing they could drive out of a dealership in same day and worrying about crippling debt later! RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Jimmy306uk - 28-02-2015 Lovely RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 28-02-2015 ya fucker jim that's a car! what is a common sight to see for you lads but is a rare sight to see now in sunderland, a 205 GTi in black! that was a real treat, as its all modern Nissan shite or some other shite like that. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Jimmy306uk - 28-02-2015 I know the kid who owns it! This was his old mk1 escort 1.3 he used for hooning about in haha! He's got a s1 rs turbo with 350bjp too, was front cover fast ford not long ago RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 28-02-2015 another work of art! I would love to have mk1 and mk2 escort on drive! RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 28-02-2015 just nipped out for a little treat for the family and I had a Peugeot 405 estate behind me, must be the only one left now sadly, as I haven't seen anymore, seen it about in the day. Its a very tidy example of a one, was a P Plate I think. so a very late registered one. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Spoonaltap - 28-02-2015 It's rare seeing any half decent cars any more, too many new shite boxs on the roads and hardly any interesting ones. See a few novas occasionally, someone in my town has a lexus ls400 which is nice but that's about it. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - fgrc76 - 01-03-2015 I've got a Sierra 1.8lx sat on my drive, it was a family members who recently pasted away, I know it's not a special model but it's done just shy of 42000 miles, needs a good clean, I'll get some pictures up when I get a chance RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 01-03-2015 (01-03-2015, 12:34 AM)fgrc76 Wrote: I've got a Sierra 1.8lx sat on my drive, it was a family members who recently pasted away, I know it's not a special model but it's done just shy of 42000 miles, needs a good clean, I'll get some pictures up when I get a chance people would have said that years ago pal, but at the end of the day. How often do you see a sierra now in general? let a lone a cosworth powered one. I have to say I have only seen two cosworth powered ones, in a spate of two years, and as for a original one now, you must be talking close to about 10 years now! Be worth giving it a clean and putting it back on the road as a retro classic. Fiat uno turbo lol Sam and ben right. I was with there sister for 3 years. Very car orientated family. Still not a bad word to say against them now. Far as I know they still have them RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Jimmy306uk - 02-03-2015 Not an oldie but I don't think ive ever seen one of these driving around? Looks like a big old boat RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - powerandtorque - 02-03-2015 If you look in the dictionary for the definition of "depreciation" you'll find a Citroen C6 ![]() They're meant to be very good in fairness, but the depreciation means that lease and purchase sums just don't add up compared to a typical German... and that's before you get to badge snobbery and the like. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - r3k1355 - 02-03-2015 Same with Peugeot as well (although I doubt their cars are any good to start off with) The small hatchbacks sell by the bucket load, but a larger saloon or estate type car is like rocking horse shit. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - fgrc76 - 02-03-2015 Needs a fair bit of tidying but the important parts are rust free ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Herby7 - 02-03-2015 (02-03-2015, 04:34 PM)fgrc76 Wrote: Needs a fair bit of tidying but the important parts are rust free Looks in great condition for age though RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 02-03-2015 (02-03-2015, 04:34 PM)fgrc76 Wrote: Needs a fair bit of tidying but the important parts are rust free (02-03-2015, 05:16 PM)Herby7 Wrote:That's in really good nick for a 23 nearly 24 year old motor! id be temped to keep it! in fact it would make a great cosworth reshell!(02-03-2015, 04:34 PM)fgrc76 Wrote: Needs a fair bit of tidying but the important parts are rust free RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - fgrc76 - 02-03-2015 I'd love to keep it but as we don't know it's value, it'll have to be sold in the estate, looks like we'll be keeping the bronze Honda hrv for back up when the Peugeot packs up RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - eskimogod - 02-03-2015 not seen any old 105 series alfa on the roads in years altho i see one most times i open the garage... RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Alan_M - 03-03-2015 E34 5 series. Used to have a 530 and it was a superb car. I'd be very tempted by a 535i Sport, if I could find one (E34 M5s are stupid money). RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - Jimmy306uk - 05-03-2015 Saw this old dodge thing earlier! Shame it's nlt got some big stupid v8 under the bonnet :p 1.7 haha! RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - powerandtorque - 05-03-2015 A lovely looking Lotus Carlton passed me on my way to work this morning ![]() Still a striking looking car today that oozes subtle aggression, especially so in the sea of bland nondescript euroboxes that it was surrounded by. Makes me smile people actually using these rare valuable classics on the roads rather than letting them gather dust. RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - fgrc76 - 05-03-2015 I sold my vauxhall meriva vxr to a right vauxhall nut, he had a mint nova gsi and lotus carlton RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 06-03-2015 walking the dog last night, and I tell you what, I heard to cars giving it some going up the road, Some bmw thing or something modern as trying to get away from one of these last night, http://www.jdclassics.co.uk/showrooms/Jaguar-Mk1-3.4/6674.htm a f*cking sweet mk1 jag! I was f*cking ill with laughter when I got in last night! as it was sat right off the arse end of the bmw or something, the fellas arse must have been popping with that right up his arse! RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - 306Dan - 06-03-2015 Saw one for you Procta in lincoln, a blue 1.1s metro the old chap who owned it uses it daily and has 170k on the clock, looks in really good condition too RE: Rare cars you dont see anymore, - procta - 06-03-2015 (06-03-2015, 07:32 PM)306Dan Wrote: Saw one for you Procta in lincoln, a blue 1.1s metro the old chap who owned it uses it daily and has 170k on the clock, looks in really good condition too one of the lads on the metro owners forum I think has a one with 250k on the clock, still on its original running gear. But that was an A series metro. |
