Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 23-05-2012

What a day...firstly, my plan was to change my bumpers - easy job, so i thought - those of you who were online earlier will know my frustration.

Was also pissed off with my axle stands as i was needing to jack the car up so high to get my old stands under:

Old vs New

So yeh, got the bumper on, the light doesnt do it justice but also gave the fans a lick of black and it looks evil. I like it...

Also had a couple of parcels arrive - cant thank MarkAirey enough for his help. Bought a turbo off him, everything included. Just needs a de-EGR jobby, hopefully get it done pre-fcs. Had it posted down to the island and a gasket set ordered online.

BUT i don't think he used enough bubble-wrap... Doh
[Image: IMG_1065.jpg]

Also, this gasket set, so many on there, i don't know what half of them are for Doh

Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 23-05-2012

you know what the gaskets are for! weve told you before haha

oh and would you look at that, that inlet/exhaust gasket seems to have 8 ports for the inlet and exhaust... fancy that Tongue

not just the gaskets, i'm talking about all the nut 'jobbies also

Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 23-05-2012

they will be for the spring loaded nut/bolts on the downpipe iirc

Re: B-road basher - mark_airey - 24-05-2012

Ginge, lmao I would have used more bubble wrap but I couldn't get it into the box with more on Big Grin

the "nut" looking things are valve stem seals which you more than likely won't use usnless you feel like taking the head off and rebuilding it, the other way to look at it is that the manifold gasket would be £6 on its own as would the rocker cover gasket so thats more than you paid for all of it already Smile its a full head rebuild set so will have cam shaft seals and all sorts in there, some of the gaskets are for different inlet and exhaust setups, you just need the one piece metal jobby for yours Smile

Oh and the bumper looks sweet BTW!

Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 24-05-2012

Ahh ok, useful to know! Big Grin

And cheers! just need to get the rest of the bump strips done now

Re: B-road basher - ginge191 - 10-06-2012

Should reall update this shouldnt i..

Well, we recently had a turbo change, audio install, rub strips painted and a general good ol' peugeot day.

Less chat, more pics.

To be fair, this is probably the last "update" on this, as my money is going onto a new engine project!

Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 10-06-2012

Would it not have been easier to take the rub strips off to paint? They just pop off lol, saves masking it all up

No.

Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 10-06-2012

Well it would as you wouldn't have to tediously mask it all up getting the lines right, however if you were to just pop it of...

Re: B-road basher - 4WayDiablo - 10-06-2012

RE: B-road basher - ginge191 - 08-07-2012

im not even going to watch that video... nice 'maxtroll', nice... Sleepy

Also found this, apparently it has more space inside than a 205 Itwasntme

RE: B-road basher - mark_airey - 08-07-2012

I want one of those keyrings!

RE: B-road basher - ginge191 - 12-07-2012

Small update i forgot to get round to; i no longer get gassed out whilst driving, as my backbox fell off just before FCS (ask Samass/Scott) about the gassing out..

So went to go see the engineer for a quick pipe jobby, just cut up some pipe, thinned the end, welded to the current flange pipe, made a bracket, on the car, job done! Also, got a new way to jack a car - SOOOO much easier.

Looks more discreet when driving; and i can coal again!

RE: B-road basher - me-tm - 29-07-2012

Quick question, when you were fitting the MBC did you have the intake manifold off as well? I'm wondering how best to fit it, from above or whether I'll need to do it from the wheel arch. I've got a K14 btw.

RE: B-road basher - strictly_perv - 29-07-2012

Think he had the mani off because the turbo was so small he lost it Big Grin sorry Stephen, couldn't resist a troll.
You can get to them from underneath. Bear in mind the K14 has a metal pipe.

RE: B-road basher - ginge191 - 29-07-2012

What he said ^^^^

I was changing the turbo so fit it then Smile easy!

But would recommend taking it all off though, unless you have some tiny hands OR in fact you could bring the engine forward easy enough to get to it.

Why does it sound like someone's watching tv in the background?
