Re: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 17-01-2014 Mot failed. ![]() [attachment=12811] [attachment=12810] Sorry for any neck ache that comes as a result of looking at those pics, not sure why they uploaded like that. Probably tapafail failing as always. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Carlos182 - 17-01-2014 Not too bad to get it through though buddy! Could've been much worse anyway! RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 17-01-2014 Was expecting worse! Well chuffed tbh, cable ties to secure the headlight, not sure what I'll do about the battery, I'm sure I'll sort something, and a steering rack gaiter. Not a hint of issue with the rear beam, although I'm still convinced it's had it. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Grant - 17-01-2014 That's quite an advisory list mate ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Dum-Dum - 17-01-2014 Cable ties or a big jubilee clip for the battery too. The only real issue is the gaiter but even that ain't bad. RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Eeyore - 17-01-2014 lots of welding D: RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Poodle - 17-01-2014 That's not bad at all mate, cost pennies to get through. ![]() Battery: Bolt in the usual hole and the biggest washer that'll fit wedged in against the battery, job done. Or some huge cable ties. Seriously, as long as they can't move it by hand it's fine. RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 17-01-2014 Yeah thats it, ive already got the gaiter kit, so will spend some time on it this weekend and get it retested in the week before heading to Grants next weekend. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Toms306 - 17-01-2014 Nothing about handbrake efficiency, TREs or oil leaks? You sure it's a 306?? ![]() ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 17-01-2014 Handbrake was an advisory last year, no reserve travel, but i fixed that. I am surprised about the oil leaks though. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 19-01-2014 Had a brilliant day today, both weather and work-wise. Got all the bits sorted needed for the MOT, and also managed to get my exhaust gasket changed! ![]() Just gotta get the car booked back into the MOT place to have the retest, and jobs a good'un. I'm hoping the exhaust is sorted, havent had a chance to test it yet, as the battery is dead, and i have no way of jumping it at the moment, just waiting for a mate to bring his leads round. ![]() With this weekend, and next weekend coming, and all the work thats being done to the car at the moment, im really feeling the love coming back....who knows, i might even wash it next! ![]() Anyway, as i am always crap at taking pics, heres one i did get of a random growth: ![]() ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Tom - 19-01-2014 Well done mate, bet it feels great to have done everything you wanted to! Always nice when it goes well lol RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Eeyore - 19-01-2014 Good stuff mate! Hopefully ill be there next weekend too. mine has growth! RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 19-01-2014 Damn right Tom, nice to have finally done some work to this car without having issues! ![]() Sounds good Sam, be good to see you again, should be a pretty epic weekend with some luck! ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 19-01-2014 In a classic case of speaking too soon, as well as the age old chestnut of "fix one thing, and then 2 more things break", it seems the drivers door loom is now extracting the urine. Or at least I think that's what it is. Basically, central locking doesn't want to work on the ir, just locks then unlocks again as if a door was left open, key in the drivers door only locks the drivers door, and using the key in the passenger door locks everything without issue. Sound like door loom to you lot as well? ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 20-01-2014 No-one gonna confirm my fears, or tell me im wrong? ![]() Oh, and the car had its retest today....I now possess a fresh 12 month MOT. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Grant - 20-01-2014 Sounds like the loom dude ![]() ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - ginge191 - 20-01-2014 Not a bad fail list TBH; and frankly i ignored your advisories after seeing the list length ![]() But how is your headlamp insecure...?! RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 20-01-2014 Grant - Done. ![]() Ginge - The cable tie holding it in had snapped...these are the crystals from my China 1.4 (that i crashed), so only have 1 mount out of 6 remaining. Cable ties FTW! ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Grant - 20-01-2014 I'm guessing it gets jealous easily, probably has a go at its girlfriend for being too flirty and then is no better itself? Or is that the wrong type of insecure? ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 20-01-2014 ![]() Yeah, that's a different kind of insecure. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - ginge191 - 20-01-2014 (20-01-2014, 05:33 PM)WiNgNuTz Wrote: Ginge - The cable tie holding it in had snapped...these are the crystals from my China 1.4 (that i crashed), so only have 1 mount out of 6 remaining. And he didn't pass you!? what an arse... my MOT'er just laughed when he saw the amount of cable ties holding my rad on and said it was a proper job! done! ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 20-01-2014 He's actually a good friend of mine, but he said it was too loose to pass it....he also said just replace the cable tie and it'd be fine. So I did. ![]() RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - ginge191 - 20-01-2014 (20-01-2014, 05:34 PM)Grant Wrote: I'm guessing it gets jealous easily, probably has a go at its girlfriend for being too flirty and then is no better itself? RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - Piggy - 20-01-2014 (20-01-2014, 10:23 PM)PugRory Wrote: Where can I get a 306oc sticker?! Posting "where can I get a..." in someones project thread probably isnt the best place to start! Anyway... Well done Nutz, got the love back? RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - PugRory - 20-01-2014 Considering I replied to the message where he has the sticker on the car in the photo, I think its suitable asking him where he got it.. RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 21-01-2014 Now now children, play nicely in my project thread please. Don't make me start deleting posts. ![]() Thanks though piggy, I think after the weekend coming at grants, I really will fall in love with it all over again, can't wait! ![]() Rory, using the search box on the home page would have found you the best answer, but the 306oc sticker thread is HERE, and can also be found as a sticky thread at the top of "The Couch". Did you?! ![]() ![]() Nutz; I fell out of love with mine soooo many times, But i loooove it now...well when the battery isnt flat I do anyway RE: WiNgNuTz's Diablo DT - WiNgNuTz - 21-01-2014 Piggy, just leave it...PugRory may well have read the whole thread, and there are more than enough pics of the car with oc stickers all over it, so I'm willing to give a newbie the benefit of the doubt on this one...I'd appreciate it if you'd do the same, and stop trying to start arguments in my project thread. Tbh, mine has become a bit of a shed/workhorse recently, especially while I was unemployed. I've still got all my tools in the boot, and the rear footwells are completely full of stuff as well, and I haven't washed it since some time last year....maybe with the new(er) clutch in, and a decent rear beam at a decent height, I will get the love back again. Time will tell. |
