Paint looks pretty smart under all that crap ![]() Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Toms306 - 03-06-2012 Possibly resistor pack for the blower motor...does it work on full speed or not at all? Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 03-06-2012 the fans work continuously at about half speed, but can't adjust the speed. bits that need fixing lots and lots of cleaning, window motors and door cards replacing maybe a radiator, full service, front discs, tyres fitting then should be good to go Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Midnightclub - 04-06-2012 Woop ph2 Nile 6 ftw Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Eeyore - 04-06-2012 still looks good for that money! ![]() ph2 gti6 on a budget - TheGateKeeper - 04-06-2012 Welcome to the crew joe ![]() Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Dicky - 04-06-2012 Blower motor is behind the glovebox, easy to do from what I remember of breaking my GTI-6 Looks a bargain. Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 04-06-2012 motor works but can't adjust the speed, could this be the resistor playing up? some cleaner pics in a bit ... Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - TheGateKeeper - 04-06-2012 Might be the resistor.. swap over another control panel? Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 04-06-2012 I'll nick the resistor out of my sisters boyfriend next time he's round, lot easier than changing the control panel over Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 04-06-2012 some grime pictures from today center bit ![]() removed soth seats to give proper clean and it looked like this ![]() other center tray ![]() k&n fitted properly now, this look good size? On you heater, It sounds like the contact is fu*ked inside the control panel. Just take the front off the panel off (dial part) and put a screw driver or a bit of metal across the contacts, if that works then you know you just need to replace the inners ph2 gti6 on a budget - Matt - 05-06-2012 That dash was disgusting! Good job on cleaning it all up ![]() Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 05-06-2012 nice cheers puglove hopefully sort that tomorrow. just changed my insurance over so as of tomorrow I'll have this on the road ![]() for an extra £7 per month stoked thought they would proper sting me! ph2 gti6 on a budget - Matt - 05-06-2012 Extra £7? Would make me nervous! Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 06-06-2012 looked through some of the receipts and found original K&N 57i fitting kit and receipt, this says exactly how it is, plus its obviously been like that for years with no issues, the reason I say I refitted it was one of the jubilee's wasn't on correctly so was sucking unfiltered air. also got a fog light out on that side so may add a cold air feed at some point, also got a load of thin sheet metal lying around so may fashion a heatshield also, no point getting loads of air in if its hot as feck! anyway off to get tax and tyres, first day with the beast on the road ![]() ph2 gti6 on a budget - Matt - 06-06-2012 Curt Wrote:Nice little bargain this dude Yeah! I thought it was brown until I cleaned it. spent a bit of money today, probably more than the car cost, and did a bit of work, new spark plugs, winns injector cleaner ( god knows if it will do much?) oil + filter, air filter cleaning kit, tyres fitted and balanced, tracking sorted, oh and tax so all legal just went for a blast lot nicer after a service, although not completely happy they sorted the tracking right, goes a lot better after cleaning the air filter too |
