Iv got some more updates for this one but will add it in later. RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 18-10-2014 Dang!!!! Absolute total Evo nut here!!! Its my goal to own one after I'm 30! Love this setup, did you do it all yourself? She beem dynod? RE: My other car, Evo content! - paulgtt - 18-10-2014 Cheers, this is my second Evo, had a 6 a little while ago, along with M2 turbo, two ST205 Celica GT4's and a version 5 Impreza WRX STI Type RA. As you can see I only do Jap stuff so a 306 is very different to me! All of the above was already done when I got the car, works out an awful lot cheaper. Iv done a few things since but all the pics are on the laptop so il have to wait till later to continue. Power on 2bar boost is 396bhp with 390lbft, she goes pretty well lol! RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 18-10-2014 Very nice. Nicely balanced figures. I was all jap before the 306. Early Colt GTis and mivec FTOs. But insurance was just so much! And I got married!! Evo8 is my mission. But i have a soft spot for the 4 and 5! Defo cheaper to buy it like that...theres 15-20k there of work! RE: My other car, Evo content! - Choppin - 18-10-2014 This is gorgus!! Love the look of the older evo's RE: My other car, Evo content! - 7057sam - 18-10-2014 Looks epic every been on track with it? RE: My other car, Evo content! - paulgtt - 18-10-2014 Iv taken it round Blyton Park about 3 weeks after I got it. Went very well but the Parada spec 2's were useless in the wet but when it dried out they were fantastic. I did manage to warp the front discs though! RE: My other car, Evo content! - paulgtt - 18-10-2014 The newer ones are more refined than the earlier cars, I just prefer the 4-6 looks wise. The Evo 6 I had was virtually standard and was quite comfortable as well as doing 25mpg if you didn't boot it. This one is harsh, clutch is heavy and struggles to do 18mpg if you don't touch the accelerator lol but its worth it every time you drive it! Some trackday pics: I decided to go with Godspeed grooved discs and kevlar pads allround when I replaced the brakes I also managed to pick up a cheap set of 5 Evo 5 stock wheels for track use so il be refurbishing these at some point RE: My other car, Evo content! - Niall - 18-10-2014 I very almost bought a Evo 8 before i charged my 6. I will still own one at some point in my life! RE: My other car, Evo content! - Kezzieboy - 18-10-2014 Such an awesome car, evos 4-6 are the best by far! RE: My other car, Evo content! - Danny Wideboy - 20-10-2014 This the one that Dum Dum had in his 306? RE: My other car, Evo content! - Eeyore - 20-10-2014 I really like evos but I just cant get excited about the older ones. Love the 8 and 9 and the 10 is meh. Really have been looking at finance to get one. RE: My other car, Evo content! - Toms306 - 20-10-2014 I just don't see the attraction of Jap stuff myself. Yeah I'm sure it's fast, and probably sounds good...but does nothing for me! My neighbour had an Evo8 for a while...he now drives a Focus. (Ok so it's an RS, not a 1.6 diesel haha) RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 20-10-2014 Ever had a drive in an evo8 Tom?? You'll soon want one! Its insurance that stops me, duno about you Sam?? RE: My other car, Evo content! - Eeyore - 20-10-2014 Probably could insure it but wouldnt want to as im sure it would disappear whilst being parked in east london! Also the thing for me is that i can bin a 306 quite happily on track... if i binned an evo i wouldnt be able to afford another D: RE: My other car, Evo content! - Toms306 - 20-10-2014 (20-10-2014, 07:38 PM)Piggy Wrote: Ever had a drive in an evo8 Tom?? Nope never had a drive, but couldn't keep up with my neighbours even in a stage 1 HDi...yes even through the twisties. What is it about them that you prefer over any other car, if you can pinpoint it? RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 20-10-2014 Its the closest thing to a full race go kart thats road legal. The finger tip input and response on the wheel, the amazing throttle response, the way it feels so well built and that you just know you have a car which even driven by a spanner like me, is pretty much quicker than anything else out there. Even a 306! Plus you can be just as fast in the snow!!! Hahahahaha RE: My other car, Evo content! - Toms306 - 20-10-2014 A race go-kart sounds horrible! I'd still prefer a hot hatch over something like an evo or impreza myself, but each to their own of course! Snow speeding does sound tempting though. RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 20-10-2014 The ride is great though, which is amazing too! RE: My other car, Evo content! - mcvite - 21-10-2014 Stunning mate, good luck with the sale RE: My other car, Evo content! - mcvite - 21-10-2014 Stunning mate, good luck with the sale RE: My other car, Evo content! - paulgtt - 21-10-2014 If you've never driven an Evo before then put it on your list, theres not much on the road that can keep up with these things in the real world. The car isn't for sale mate, you'd have to prise the keys from my cold, dead hands to get this lol! RE: My other car, Evo content! - Matt-Rallye - 21-10-2014 Aha i have always been an impreza man myself but can appreciate this Only evo i have had a go in is an evo9 FQ400 and it was fast dont get me wrong but it felt a little too delicate for welsh B road hoonage (my doorstep!) Getting out of the FQ400 and into my Tubby2k scoob on full V6 STi running gear (proven 336ponies) the impreza just felt so much more planted around the lanes, i can imagine on the track the evo would have the upper hand but on the lanes the scoob would just edge it Lovely looking car though! any further plans with it? RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 21-10-2014 The FQ400 is the proper tarmac track weapon tbf Not a gravel muncher My other car, Evo content! - DavidA - 21-10-2014 Always preferred the Evo over the Scooby, just don't like them (probably doesn't help it was my ex-wife's "dream car"...) but have a soft spot for the old Escort Cosworth. A mate from uni got one putting out over 400bhp...phenomenal car. When I won tonight's lottery... Love the Evo. Re: RE: My other car, Evo content! - Seb_Ryan - 21-10-2014 (20-10-2014, 08:03 PM)Piggy Wrote: Its the closest thing to a full race go kart thats road legal. No piggy, its not. A westfield/caterham etc is the closest thing to that. An evo is well..a car lol An awesome one though RE: My other car, Evo content! - jayspug86 - 21-10-2014 I wish id bought an evo rather than Scooby a while back , maybe one day lol RE: My other car, Evo content! - Piggy - 21-10-2014 (21-10-2014, 09:26 PM)Seb_Ryan Wrote:(20-10-2014, 08:03 PM)Piggy Wrote: Its the closest thing to a full race go kart thats road legal. Ok fair point. Let me rephrase: Its the closest thing to a full race go kart thats road legal, keeps you warm, dry, safe, with a stereo system, space for the kids and the months shopping! RE: My other car, Evo content! - akuma406 - 22-10-2014 I love your EVO Paul, especially such a brute defense with huge headlights. . . . |
