Clutch and throttle will be pedal. Gearstick will still be the left hand. but just up/down, or forward/back in this case lol Forward = down shift Back = Upshift. RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Wor Jimmy - 27-01-2014 Got an engine and some parts lined up RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Midnightclub - 27-01-2014 So, you're using the 306 chassis for the trike base...?? RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - cully - 27-01-2014 goodluck getting that through IVA/SVA RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Tom - 27-01-2014 If you find a way to make an xud box sequential i will be wanting one! RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Eeyore - 27-01-2014 Good luck! I'd love a sequential box! Any engine size.. must be under 450kg, 3 wheels. (27-01-2014, 06:34 PM)Tom Wrote: If you find a way to make an xud box sequential i will be wanting one! Is there any manual cars with seqs? not the semi or autos. Failing that a heavily modded bike gearbox lol (Torque/power maybe an issue as it may just blow the box up) RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Martin306 - 27-01-2014 Regulations are strict, but there's no reason that won't pass MSVA. Also, as for the sequential thing, that would be easy with a few bell cranks and levers since you'd have space to do it. there's a guy in the netherlands that put a TUD5 into a motorbike slightly on topic being diesel and not proper car RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Tom - 27-01-2014 Sequential shifting is just such epic win. RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - procta - 27-01-2014 be interesting to see, be like building a kit car in away. I Love bikes, and keeping it up/down on gears will make it so i love the trike more lol (27-01-2014, 07:17 PM)procta Wrote: be interesting to see, be like building a kit car in away. Basicly yeah, just more bodging made to look right RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Dean - 27-01-2014 I've seen a manual box turned into a sequential box, but involves electronics, solenoids etc. Basically a control box to move in a H pattern, but with only up and down shifts, looks a bit complex. Either that, or finding a DSG Gearbox and adapting it to fit on a 306... but that would be paddles on the steering wheel rather than a stick shifter. But I imagine that DSG Boxes carry a hefty price tag. RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Dean - 27-01-2014 Pictures as requested. [attachment=13121] 1st line Gears [attachment=13122] 2nd Line Gears [attachment=13123] Gear operation through linkages [attachment=13124] Clutch + gearbox clutch arm. RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Wor Jimmy - 27-01-2014 This part is just for fun.. Might not be on the build.. I don't see why this Can't/Won't work But I may try and mount the gearbox at the front. with the engine backwards? Is this possible!? The gearbox doesn't even need to be attached to the engine. the the shafts need to be connected I'd be KEEPING the XUD clutch, taking the clutch off the motorbike gearbox and attaching a straight cog/gear to the clutch input shaft [attachment=13141] RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Tom - 27-01-2014 Would of thought all that torque plus the load from a weighty car/trike/vehicle would destroy a bike box :/ RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Martin306 - 27-01-2014 just fit an auto box, sequential right there! you can get shift kits too for some gearboxes. I've got a fj1200, runs at 130bhp on the crank / 95 at the wheel / no turbo @ 80ft/lb .. bottom ends/boxes are bulletproof Stock is about 100ft/lb on a standard 1.9 Xud DT?? (feel free to correct) I've seen these FJ boxes running 30+ psi of boost from a turbo on a drag bike (not sure what that adds in torque?) Only one way to find out (if cost / Practicality allow) (27-01-2014, 10:28 PM)Martin306 Wrote: just fit an auto box, sequential right there! Trying to use what i have to keep cost down .. Maybe. Link me these auto box thingymajiggies you are talking of? RE: 306 XUD Trike / Attempt - Mitch - 27-01-2014 I think stock torque is 145 ft/lbs could be wrong though.. |
