Got a massive banging from the rear. Like someone is hitting it from underneath with a hammer.
It's not all the time. Just random. I thought it was on corners but it's not. Also not just on bumpy roads
I suspect something has broken big time, what can it be?

I thought it could be the beam mounts, but I thought it would be a constant thing with them. Like over bumps or cornering?
Would f*cked shocks cause a banging? As I have a feeling mine might be one their way out....

Could be shocks but more likely to be rear mounts, ive had bushes go on a shocker which can cause such noise

First thing to do is MTFU, make a coffee and get under it and look for something obvious like something loose. Could well be a siezed shock or loose wheel bolts......

Manning the f*ck up isn't possible as I'm at work till Thursday. Litterally all hours of the day as I'm covering 4 shifts in two days.
May try and get out after lunch and see if anything is loose.
It's not the exhaust. I had a feel of that, and it's solid. Only thing I can think of is the shocks or mounts. I've got solid mounts to fit. But I currently have no tools to do anything as my complete tool box is 50 miles away on loan :/
Anyone free Thursday to fit mounts and shocks lol I'll pay in man love!

Such a dick haha.
Just checked the mounts are actually still connected haha. Nuts are tight on the inside. But pissing down and I'm meant to be at work haha
When pushing down on the rear you can hear the gassy shock sound but that's it. I'll see if I can get done time to check under the car later when work get quiet

To check the mounts you will need to jack the car up from the sills to let the beam hang down, you will then see if the mounts are still in one piece.

Mine developed a bang like that a few years ago just as I was pulling on to the m25 by the dartford crossing
One of the bolts had fallen out of the shock mount!!!

Right so new coil packs and spark plugs didn't sort it. It's better but not fixed. When driving it felt like there was a restriction. A blockage I had to put my boot down to get past. Over tightened aux belt cause this? Because my steering goes slightly iffy at the same time?

Haven't changed the filter as I didn't have time, will be done tomorrow.
What do I look for pump wise? How do you know if they are f*cked?

Eh what? Your aux belt is causing a banging at the rear of the car...? I know your mechanics aint great, but that's a seriously tenuous link...
