bx turbo diesel conversion. clutch cable help.
#1
Hi guys wondering if any one can help I'm planning on converting the bx to turbo diesel, but I'm struggling to find the right clutch cable to suit the push style clutch. Does anyone know we're or what car I can get one from? Or any other way round it.

Thanks in advance.

I would guess the cable would be like a 205 or 309 design with the pull type clutch? On my 205 which i used the 306 gear box i used the 205 cable with some of the bits from a 306 clutch cable with a spacer on the end and done the nuts up on the end to take the slack.

Can try and get a pic if you want?

Think I've got push and pull the wrong way round I want to keep the orginal clutch (turbo diesel) one with the release bearing that's fixed to the pressure plate. So is that a push or a pull style?

That push type, HDi and the nads tend to be the pull type. Pretty shore i got it the right way round.

Ok so I need a push type cable that can connect to the standard bx clutch pedal. I was thinking early zx maybe.

nope.

your original BX n-a clutch is push type, separate bearing, push to release.

XUD9TE is pull type, pull to release...

XUD7T is push type 215mm in a BX so you can retain your original cable and release lever, though if you want to use a turbo box not froma BX you may have issues with the bellhousing not having he right machining to accept the BX stuff.
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

I'm planning on a hdi box with the 306 (fixed bearing) pull clutch. So I need to find a cable that can suit the clutch. I'll transfer the fork etc from the 405 turbo diesel box I have on to the hdi box. Just the right cable I need to figure out.

Had a brain wave maybe xantia 1.9 turbo diesel might have the right cable.

that or a zx, does the bx have that annoying bullet shaped metal end that goes into a plastic and metal clip on the pedal?

There's a BX TD estate for £500 with MOT until next July around on another forum ATM. Easier.

I'm unsure at this moment in time gonna attempt to look tomorrow but from other bx cables I've seen they look like a metal rectangular hook.

Didn't see your reply I had to space the standard cable by 20/30mm and it worked.

The bx is now for sale tho in turbo diesel format due to some extremely serious personal problems.
