Not what you want. Fixable though. RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - HDIkyle - 07-02-2014 Ye phase 2 estate RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - cully - 07-02-2014 raise you a ph3 2002 estate guess what im repairing tomorrow? [attachment=13387] [attachment=13388] RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - powerandtorque - 07-02-2014 Hmmm, reminds me that I need to stop being in denial and have a look at the NSR on mine to see how bad it is - the fact that the last owner lived down a muddy track and hence the wheel arches were clogged with thick, wet mud doesn't bode particularly well I fear. Like others I suspect I'm baffled why Peugeot chose not to put an arch liner on that side. RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - silverzx - 07-02-2014 Arch liners are for losers anyway! Less places for dirt etc to sit then. RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - silverzx - 07-02-2014 Can get 5L of under-seal for a £5'er and doesn't take more then half a day over the weekend. Exactly this. After my arch lines made a run for it, they didn't get replaced RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - silverzx - 07-02-2014 Yes grant. /thumbsup RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - Rippthrough - 08-02-2014 Fiver says he rubs the flakey bits off and whacks some stickers over it RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - Grant - 08-02-2014 (08-02-2014, 12:49 AM)Rippthrough Wrote: Fiver says he rubs the flakey bits off and whacks some stickers over it Nah, I've seen cully's car before when he's been working on it. He has good attention to detail. Surprisingly :p RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - HDIkyle - 14-02-2014 Fixed RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - Rippthrough - 14-02-2014 f*ck me, a flock of pidgeons has gone past! Did you weld in a panel from a scrap vehicle? Doubtful, probably just used 2mm (?) sheet metal cut to the right shape. Hasn't got to look pretty at the end of the day, it's all covered with trim pieces. RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - Danny Wideboy - 23-05-2016 2mm be far too thick. I'm not sure but I think Peugeot used 0.8mm steel. Should still last the lifetime of the car if protected properly at 0.8. RE: Rust is lighter than carbon fibre..... - bashbarnard - 23-05-2016 i used 2mm on all of my repairs on these as thats what i can order in cheap at work lol |
