Found this among some old notes, thought it might be useful.

How to reset your ECU:
  • Disconnect battery for 45 minutes.
  • Reconnect battery and turn ignition to MAR for 90 seconds.
  • Turn ignition off and leave for 90 seconds.
  • Start engine without pressing throttle, let car idle for 15 minutes. Don't touch anything else!
  • Turn off engine and leave for 10 minutes.
  • Your ECU is now reset, go for a long drive covering all driving styles and cycles.
What's MAR? And will this work for x reg 1.6 petrol?
Ignition on
That's 'IGN' isn't it? I don't know what MAR stands for either. lol Its just OFF, ACC, IGN, START afaik...
Ahh! Ok!

I know this is a bit rude, but can anyone let kezzieboy know I was trying to contact him about his hdi! I don't appear to have enough privileges yet to be free in the forum lol!
Just doing this to mine now. If you look on the ignition barrel there's a 'M' which basically is ignition on

Sitting in the car for 15 mins is going to get a bit boring, cars on a busy road so can't leave it
Has anyone experienced any benefits from this on a hdi?
Have done it in the past to a few civic's i had, never noticed any change tbh
I think mines got underlying problems, but after the ecu reset it does was to accelerate a bit easier
